Meet Dr. Aruna Sahadev
Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist
Dr. Aruna Sahadev’s interest in obstetrics and gynaecology began during her internship. With guidance from her seniors, she saw that women’s health care is much more than treating the uterus and ovaries. She was especially drawn to preventive gynaecological oncology and has taken part in awareness camps on cervical cancer and women’s health.
Fertility care was not her first planned area of work. Over time, she saw how different every patient’s situation can be. This made her value treatment that is planned around the person, not a fixed approach. She has supported more than 100 patients with positive outcomes in their fertility journey.
Dr. Aruna believes patients should feel comfortable enough to share their fears and doubts. She gives clear and straightforward information, explains the treatment options and gives patients time to think. There is no pressure to start a treatment on the same day.
Her care is based on experience and evidence-based medicine. Where suitable, she also talks about supportive self-care practices such as yoga, meditation and overall wellbeing alongside medical treatment.
Dr. Aruna is interested in speaking about preventive medicine, vaccination and sex education. She believes that simple and correct health information helps people make better choices for themselves and their families.
Outside work, Dr. Aruna enjoys travelling, reading books and listening to old music.
